Nov. 3, 1942 Mrs. Jesse Oglesby Dies Here Tuesday; Rites at 3 Wednesday Mrs. Jesse Oglesby, wife of a prominent wholesaler here and former head nurse at Memorial General Hospital, succumbed to pneumonia at Memorial General Hospital at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday after an illness of several days. Her condition had been critical since Saturday. Before marriage Mrs. Oglesy, 38, was Miss Katherine Gaddy, superintendent of nurses at Memorial General Hospital. She was an active member of Gordon Street Church of Christ. She was well known. Surviving with her husband are two children, Frank and Katherine Oglesby. The funeral will be from Gordon Street Church of Christ at 3 p.m. Wednesday, with burial in Westview Cemetery. The pastor, Reverend J. Wayne Drash, will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Fred Taylor, Ben Patrick, Clarence Gray, Ed Bradshaw, Harry Bland, J. G. Brooks and Douglas McDaniel. Honorary pallbearers will be C. W. Howard, chairman representing the Official Board of Gordon Street Church of Christ; Dr. Paul Whitaker and members of the staff of Memorial General Hospital, and members of the Lion’s Club.
