Chapman-Brown, Retha AYDEN - Eldress Retha Chapman-Brown, 67, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2008. Survivors include her father, Arthur Chapman; brother Sgt. Major David E. Chapman - USMC, Retired; daughter Vondra Davis; and granddaughter, Joelle Davis. The funeral will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at New Deliverance F.W.B. Church in Ayden. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3 at Don Brown Funeral Home. She was born November 4, 1941 in Pitt County, North Carolina to the union of Mr. Arthur and Mrs. Martha Randoph Chapman. She graduated from South Ayden High School in 1959 and was married to the late Mr. John L. Brown in 1976. She was preceded in death by her mother, two sisters and one nephew. She is survived by her father, Mr. Arthur Chapman; one brother, Sgt. Major David E. Chapman-USMC, Retired; one daughter, Mrs. Vondra Davis;one granddaughter, Joelle Davis; three aunts and a host of caring relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 12:30 pm at New Deliverance FWB Church, Ayden, NC with calling from 6pm-9pm Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Don Brown Funeral Home.
