Sadie Lanier Davenport, 84, of Kinston Rt. 3 died Tuesday at Britthaven Nursing Home. She was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from Howard-Carter and Stroud Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. John Oliver, Olene Civils and James McLean officiating. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park. Survivors include three sons, George Weldon Davenport of Trenton, Robert Nelson Davenport and Lynwood Dock Davenport, both of Kinston; two sisters, Estelle Jarman and Laurah Jarman, both of Kinston; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at Howard-Carter and Stroud Funeral Home and other times at the home of Robert Nelson Davenport, Kinston Rt. 3.
