LA GRANGE - Sallie Elizabeth Harrison, 89, of 5472 Bryan-Hardy Road, died Saturday, January 17, 2009, at Britthaven of Kinston. Mrs. Harrison was born May 30, 1919, to the late Isaac and Betty Foyles Harrison. She was wife of the late Abner Harrison and was preceded in death by a grandson, Allen Groves. Mrs. Harrison was a member of Kinston First Pentecostal Holiness Church and enjoyed flowers, gardening and reading her Bible. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2009, from Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Forehand and the Rev. Willis Pearson officiating. Interment will follow at Mewborn Cemetery. Mrs. Harrison is survived by three daughters, Faye Jones and husband Jimmie, of Kinston, Betty Corn and husband Nicky, of Burnsville, Marion Westbrook and husband Sammy, of Goldsboro; two sisters, Cora Thomas and Ruth Baker, both of Kinston; brother, Isaac Harrison, Jr. of Kinston; six grandchildren, Nick Corn, Wesley Jones, Mona Saunders, Valerie Klem, Carol Hamilton and Sam Westbrook, Jr.; 13 great-grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Rouse Funeral Home and at other times they will be at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Sammy Westbrook, 1043 Spring Bank Road, Goldsboro.
