Obituary of Stanley Floyd Roberson, Sr. --

Stanley Floyd Roberson, Sr., 75 of Kinston, Rt. 3, died Sunday in his home.  
He was a member and Elder of Armenia Christian Church.  He was a member 
and director of the Lenoir County Farm Bureau and served on the board of 
directors of the North Carolina Farm Bureau Federation.  He was a former 
trustee on the Lenoir Memorial Hospital Board and was a charter member of 
the Southwood Ruritarian Club.  Mr. Robertson served in the U.S. Army 
during World War II and was a prominent farmer in Lenoir and Jones Counties.  
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bertie Whitley Roberson of the home; three 
sons, Stanley F. Roberson, Jr., Gerald W. Roberson and Alton H. Roberson 
all of Kinston, Rt. 3; two sisters, Mrs. Inez Avery of Pink Hill, and Mrs. Doris  
Dawson of Kinston; and several grandchildren, Leigh, Gus, Whit, Camille, 
Lynn, Lauren and Clay Roberson.  Services will be held 2:00 p.m.  
Wednesday, December 11, from the chapel of Garner-Stroud Funeral Home 
in Kinston with Rev. Dr. Harold Deitch officiating.  Burial will follow in Westview 
Cemetery in Kinston.  The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 Tuesday 
evening at Garner-Stroud Funeral Home and other times at the home.
