Thomas Earl Civils, 67, of Kinston Rt. 3 died Sunday at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville. He was a merchant at Leslie White’s store for 38 years and a York Rite mason. He was a member of Shady Grove Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shady Grove Methodist Church with the Rev. Ray Brooks and the Rev. James A. Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Christine Stroud Civils of the home; a daughter, Darlene Civils Burnette of Trenton; and a sister, The Rev. Olene Civils of Rock Hill, S.C. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Howard-Carter Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Shady Grove Methodist Church.
