Obituary of Thomas R. Lee ~ 1927

DEATH OF THOMAS LEE, WELL-KNOWN RESIDENT.  Thomas R. Lee, 63, died suddenly at 
his home about 4 o'clock this morning from a heart attack.  He had apparently 
been in good health until he was stricken yesterday, and the end was not 
expected.

Mr. Lee is survived by a widow and two children, Dr. T. Leslie Lee and Mrs. 
Ina Mae Lee, and one grandchild.  His daughter was visiting at Danville, Va., 
when the end came.  She is expected to arrive by motor some time today.  Mr. 
Lee was well and favorably known here.  He was a consistent member of the 
First Presbyterian Church and an elder, and was also superintendent of the 
Sunday school.  He was connected with the wholesale house of Jeffreys & Sons.

The funeral will be held at the home tomorrow evening at 5 o'clock.  Rev Irby 
D. Terrell, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will officiate.  Burial 
will be made in Maplewood Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be: Dr. R. S. 
McGeachy, Mr. Kampf, H. E. Shaw, O. T. Boney, E. H. Osborne, and Mr. Folsom.  
Honorary pallbearers will be: J. H. Ellis, K. Denmark, J. H. Parham, Dr. Paul 
Whitaker, Dr. Stanley Whitaker, Dr. R. G. Waterhouse, Dr. Floyd Wooten, Dr. 
Vance Perry, Dr. Graves Poole, Dr. Elwood Boney, Dr. Charles Mangum, Dr. 
Herbert Seear, Allen Wooten, Fitzhugh Wallace, Wallace Webb, Charles Rosemond 
and H. C. Raymore.
