I am looking for ancestral information regarding my grandparentsJohn Marshall
SURLES and Leta JACKSON who weremarried in 1902. In 1920 they resided in
Greenville, NCand had seven children Isabel, Johnnie Ray, Anna Ruth,
Lillian,Eugene, Doris, and Lucille. Doris and Lucille later died andanother
daughter was born in 1921 either by the name Katie orCaroline. Leta died in
the late 1930's. John M. SURLES diedin December, 1948. I believe they lived
most of their lives inthis area but at one time could have resided in Kinston,
NC.I believe there are still JACKSON cousins living in thearea.

June23, 1856 d. Aug 12, 1939 They lived on a farm in GreeneCounty, NC. I have
a note by my Aunt, Claude (BARFIELD)SMALL, which states that Sherd BARFIELD's
parents were BenBARFIELD and Helen JONES. The 1850 Census lists aBenjamin
BARFIELD in Greene County, NC. I assumethat the Benjamin BARFIELD in the 1850
Census was thefather of Sherd Benjamin BARFIELD and the husband of
HelenJONES. Can anyone confirm these assumptions? Can anyoneprovide the
parents of Benjamin BARFIELD and Helen JONES?

I am looking for the ancestors of Edmund COOR, my greatgrandfather, who was
born about 1811 in North Carolinaaccording to the 1880 census and family
tradition. He died aboutJanuary 17, 1895, in Wayne County. He married first
AnnaMariah COX, daughter of Levi COX, prior to 1838,and they had eight
children. Anna Mariah COX Coor diedbetween the 1880 census and January 4,
1882, when Edmund COOR remarried(he was 69 or 70 years old at the time!) to
Adrianna HOOKS.They had five children, including my grandmother, Annie Eugenia
COOR,who married Milford AYCOCK. They are buried in the AYCOCKcemetery in
northwestern Wayne County on Route 222. Ibelieve that Edmund COOR also has
descendents in LenoirCounty.

EAKES. He married a woman named RosaBelle. They had two girls, Minnie Mae and
Lula. If anyone cangive me at least the werebouts of the daughters I would

My grandfather, George PATRICK lived in Kinston, NCand was married to Frances
PATRICK with whom he had 15children. One of them was my father, George
PATRICK, and Iam George PATRICK III, now a resident of Philadelphia,PA.The
only dates I can give are the birthdates of two of my auntsEunice and Martha
PATRICK born in 1919 and 1914,respectively. My father died when I was five (I
was born 1935) soI have no knowledge of his birthdate or that of my
grandparents.They lived at 801 Thompson St. in Kinston, the property isstill
in family hands. We have been unable to find information onthe family prior to
George and Frances PATRICK. Euniceattended the Zion A.M.E. church in Kinston
as a child.George had at least one sister in Kinston, we are unawareof her
first name. Who, it turns out, is my wife's Great-GreatGrandmother. She
married a HOWARD. They had a daughternamed Sarah HOWARD who married a BUTLER,
they had adaughter named Novella BUTLER, who married a PARKER.My wife is a
PARKER. I know this is a lot and apologizefor longwindedness, but hope that
