I am looking for information about an Ephraim VAUSE,in the late 1700th
century. May be connected with VANCE.I believe these names to be the same as I
have found reference tothis Ephraim VAUSE with his surname spelled
fourdifferent ways. Those spellings are: VAUSE, VANCE,VANSE, and VOSS. I have
foundan Ephraim VAUSE in Lenoir Co. NC.in the 1800's which could be the son
or grandson of the one I amresearching. Any information about this Ephraim
VAUSEwould be most appreciated. Thank you.

Seeking information on first generation of HOODfamily which moved to Lenoir
County ca 1794 from DinwiddieCounty, Virginia. Thomas HOOD(1776-1857)
married Clarissa, daughter of William ARENDELLand relocated to Alabama in
1834. James HOOD(brother of Thomas?) married Elizabeth ARENDELL,sister
of Clarissa. Mary HOOD (sister ofThomas and James?) is said to have
married Blaney HARPER,son of Francis HARPER. Would likeverification
that these HOODS were siblings, andthe names of their parents.

ancestor was James H. HARTSFIELD,born in 1820 in NC. A Baptist preacher, he
died in 1864in Macon Co. Georgia. Two of his sons foundedthe town of
Hartsfield, GA. One of his sons, Joel DanielHARTSFIELD was married to Mattie
ROUSE.Her family was also from Lenoir County. I know that manyHARTSFIELDs
lived in Lenoir County fromabout 1780 on. I am trying to connect James H.
HARTSFIELDto the Lenoir County HARTSFIELDs. I have alot of information about
the HARTSFIELD familyin general, but I'm trying to link James H. HARTSFIELDto
the rest of the family.

Am seeking information on Charles Russell DODSONwho moved to Kinston about
1901 and operated C. R.Dodson & Co. The building was built by a Mr.
W. C.Field's Sr. Does anyone know where it was located? Also,
Charles Dodson's wife, Frances Leiter CROUCH,died in 1915 and nothing is known
about her except they marriedin Richmond, VA. in 1901. I did not find a
markerfor her in Maplewood Cemetary so I am assuming that she mighthave been
returned to her family's home. They lived at 307Lenoir St. and the house
was later moved to 312 Lenoir St. andthe corner lot given to the Presbyterian
Church to build abuilding. Will appreciate any help on this.

PEACOCK. He had a son by the name of Gilliam Lester PARKER,b. cir. 1829,
married Sarah LUCAS from CumberlandCo.. Gilliam died, 1914 and is buried
in Summerville,near Lillington, N.C. at Tirzah Pres. Church.

on family of John WIGGINS, ca1715-1767. Daughter Ellenor married John
JONESand Charlotte married Gray WESTBROOK. John'swidow Margaret remarried to
widower James NICHOLSON.Gershom WIGGINS also son of John and Margaret(by
document) Believe John WIGGINS died 1803, CravenCo. and later Lenoir, is also
son. Does anyone havemore information on any of these surnames? Can John be
