Am looking for information or confirmation that Richard BYRD (BIRD)of the Falling Creek area served in the Revolutionary War.Service could have been performed by either Richard BYRD,Sr. d. abt 1797 or by Richard BYRD, Jr. d. 1818. I haveunconfirmed information that Richard BYRD, Jr. served as aprivate in the NC Militia during the War of 1812.
Also, anyone have any information on the why that Bright andRedin BYRD migrated to southeast Alabama in the1820s?

I am trying to find the name of the ship that my ancestor Thomas TADLOCKcame to America on. We were told that he was Scottish, but hemay have been English or Irish. He could not write so the namemay have been changed to it's phonetic spelling. The first recordof him appears on the land grantor listing for Johnston/Dobbs/Leniorcounties in the book for 1750-1754. If anyone has information,can tell me how to look this up or can research the ships recordsof that period please contact me.

The following information was obtained in Records of EarlyLand Settlers: Tennessee Genealogical Records. Why these werelisted in Tennessee I do not know. My Jacob CLARKE enlistedin the Revolutionary War in Wilmington, NC in 1777,serving as a private in the 1st Regiment North Carolina Line, inCapt John Walker's company, later under Capt. Brown. The recordsat the Mormon Church show that Jacob CLARK was married in NorthCarolina to Sarah STEPHENS.

I am looking for information on Jacob CLARKE and hisheir Issac CLARK of Lenoir County North Carolina.

No. 377 Heirs of Jacob CLARKE, private in the NorthCarolina Line; 640 acres of land within the limits reserved forofficers and soldiers of the North Carolina Cont. Line issued 29July 1820. Isaac CLARK of Lenoir Co. North Carolinatransferred the warrant to Roderick Cherry on 12 August 1820.

The Jacob CLARKE that I am researching had a relativepossibly a brother or son etc. named Issac CLARK who wasliving in Lenoir County in 1820. Any help is greatlyappreciated!
